ID Remote

As of January 1, 2024, all drones operated in the specific category (including those operating under national or EU standard scenarios) must be equipped with a remote identification system.
Dronavia's Remote ID kit is a remote identification system compliant with EASA regulations.

Flight Termination Systems

"Flight Termination System" o FTS
A Flight Termination System (FTS) is a system that, when activated, terminates the flight.
By nature, it is an emergency measure, not a contingency.
Its purpose is to ensure that an out-of-control UAS exceeding the contingency area allows the pilot to terminate the flight, ensuring that the ground impact and debris remain strictly within the designated risk area.

Further reduce risk with the parachute
Step 2 of the SORA is used to determine the GRC (Ground Risk Class), while Step 3 serves to reduce it (lowering the number of points obtained in Step 2). In other words, once the GRC is determined, risk mitigation measures can be implemented to reduce the final score obtained in Phase 2 of the SORA. The mitigation measures are divided into three phases, including M2:
M2 – Reduction of impact effects: this phase aims to minimize the consequences of an incident should it occur. For example, by using containment devices to protect people and property on the ground, or implementing evacuation plans in the event of an incident.

The parachute has unlimited autonomy (it is powered directly by the drone). The autonomy of our remote release system exceeds 30 hours. Our systems are designed to support pilots throughout their missions.

MOC 2511 / 2512 M2 compliance, Class C5, STS European scenarios
EASA has published a new proposed means of compliance for systems installed on drones to reduce ground impact in the event of an accident. The document is intended for drone operators considering equipping a drone with a parachute or demonstrating that the drone has a feature that reduces its impact energy in case of an accident. The document is also intended for drone manufacturers and mitigation system manufacturers (parachute recovery systems).
The MOC 2512 (M2) standard defines the required level of robustness for the safety system in case the drone loses control and falls to the ground.
Depending on the level of robustness, a correction value can reduce or increase the GRC. The more effective the measures, the higher the correction value and the lower the GRC. If the final GRC is greater than 7, it is not possible to apply for a SORA.
The assessment of the Ground Risk Class (GRC) is covered in steps 2 and 3 of the SORA. The first step concerns the definition of the intrinsic GRC, which is the initial ground risk level, while the second concerns the mitigation measures that can be applied to reduce the risk and achieve the final GRC.
The MOC is essential for obtaining the SORA
The Special Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) is a document issued by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) that allows a company to conduct Specific Category operations. These operations fall outside of "standard" scenarios and are considered to pose a higher safety risk than regular flight activities.
To obtain a SORA, a company must demonstrate that it has adequate risk and safety management measures (such as an FTS system) for its specific operations and is capable of complying with applicable aviation safety regulations.
SORA & STEP 9
Step 9 of the SORA addresses the risk of loss of control of the aircraft and flight into adjacent areas where the risk to third parties (on the ground or in the air) may be higher. If the aircraft is not properly designed, abnormal situations could cause the UAS to exit the operational area. The operator should consider mitigations for adjacent areas and determine the level of containment (standard or enhanced) for the aircraft in question. For any containment system implemented, the operator must:
“declare compliance with the provisions of the document ‘Means of compliance with Light UAS.2511 – Enhanced containment’, or provide evidence of such compliance (technical description, test reports, etc.) when applying for an authorization.”
